Venemous snake warning sign at our library in Arizona

It’s been a few ugly years, but I’m back posting in Europe. This up-close & personal post is from Malta, one of my favorites. We worked through Gatwick Airport outside London, from the US Northwest & then here yesterday. I’ll keep this one short . . .

So why no posts since October of 2021?

  • Well, Covid of course had an impact from February 2020 to November 2022 – so no travel.
  • And both my 94 yr old in-laws became sick in 2021 & died in 2021/2022 in the Phoenix area.

We had moved to Surprise AZ to take loose care of them & do the prep work for the inevitable, but things progressed quickly in late 2021. They both were amazing – & I miss them dearly.

  • We both needed a full year to properly grieve & finish the details with my wife’s siblings. I used the time to find a volunteer gig remodeling my local hospital’s gardens for 16 months.

The upside of this emotional time while living in Surprise from 2019 to 2022 was finding my chance to punch out 2 things on my bucket list:

  • Get involved with minor/major league baseball as the oldest Groundskeeper at Surprise Stadium.
  • Buy a beast of a Harley-Davidson as my commuter car. Mine was a 2013 Sportster 1200X with added gizmos & a 2nd tuning computer that added 12 hp to the equation. Yeah, Baby: 0 to 50 in 3 seconds.

So – let’s start up again . . .
